Rajmata Anant Kumari Ji was born on the day of Anant Chaturdashi in 1921. She was the daughter of His Highness The Maharaja of Rajgarh (M.P.) Sri Bikram Singh Ji (K.C.I.E,O.B.E). She received her primary education in Rajgarh, in those days there was strict Purdah System, so her French Governess who was her care-taker educated her at home. Rajmata Anant Kumari was married to Yuvraj Digvijaya Pal Singh Ji, the eldest son of Raja Surya Pal Singh Ji. She educated her children in the best schools of the country and always believed that good education is the fountain-head to success. She strongly believed that we could empower the human mind and sprit through the power of knowledge and love for learning. Rajmata Saheb's vision was to create a learning environment that would bring forth self-reliance, self-confidence and competence in the individuals. After the independence in 1947, there was very little development in and around Awagarh. She always wanted to open a school for the children to develop their independent thinking and decision making and to create an awareness and sensitize the children towards the need to protect and conserve our environment and diverse cultural heritage.
